October 23rd, 2003
10:22 am, October 23rd Staff meeting yesterday was uneventful. My boss, the author, let us know about a meeting she had attended that was "an hour and 90 minutes long."
On the way to ECR, Steve stopped at McDonalds again for me to get a salad, then dropped me off at St. Andrew's before he went to dinner with Ann. We had enough Advanced people for a square at 6:20pm. More showed up, and we tagged in for awhile until we had two full squares for the review. Rich cued a lot, which seems like cheating. It gets people through, but do they really know the calls without the cues?
Andy's part of the Advanced class didn't seem to go so smoothly. I started off fine, but seemed to have mental lapses throughout. If someone else did something wrong, I second-guessed myself and made errors. I need more floortime at Advanced to get additional confidence. The Vancouver fly-in should take care of that. Andy only went through one position of "Cast A Shadow" from promenading. Grrrr. Ever since I've seen that definition, I was looking forward to APD floortime with it.
Wore my India t-shirt last night. Got LOTS of good comments. Maybe I'll get a sale out of it.

06:24 pm, October 23rd - Thursday so far Boy, this work project is really keeping me busy. The specs changed again. Instead of updating 125+ jobs, now it's up to over 375. It's not just changes, but there's some research involved. Not sure if I'll get everything done by end of day on Friday. We did get notice today that the project install has been moved from mid-December to sometime in January. That's great, but testing still starts on Monday.
I've been too busy to make it to the gym yesterday or today. I did manage to get out for a quick lunch. I walked down to Pier 1 Cafe. On my way, I saw the streetcar named Desire. I always get a kick seeing that one and imagining it years ago in New Orleans long before it was moved out to SF.
Got home from work around 5:15pm, WAY late for me. I walked in and came face to face with a stranger. A hot stranger. Woof. Then I noticed Steve in his bathrobe and a faint smell of poppers. Steve introduced me to John, who was on his way out the door. Steve napped, and I played piano for awhile. My brain was fried from work, so the piano helped.
FCD club night was cancelled tonight, so we'll be hitting the LS for "Bears in Boxers." Steve wanted to show up with a different theme in mind, "Bears with Boxcutters." Well, off to dinner first. Just wanted to blog today's stuff, as I'll be probably too busy in the morning.
