04:04 pm, September 8th - I like to shop in the duty-free shop I received a summons for jury duty this week. No groups had to report this morning. There are 27 groups. Four groups, but not mine, have been selected for tomorrow. Three more nights to check!

Thanks for the reminder - had to check for the husband he too has jury duty this week he was not in the 4 groups called
I'm in group 126. I've had to go in the last two times, but I've never been chosen for a jury. It's like gym class all over again.
He is in group 101.
Last time I had JD I had to sit through selection for 2 days but they never called on me before the final selection so I was out of there, got my check for ~$15
So, I'm guessing the title is a reference to a Seinfeld episode?
Ding ding ding! It's the only "duty" reference that came to my mind.

When I visiting last November, I found a jury summons waiting for me. Fortunately it was still a couple weeks in the future so there was no bench warrant for not showing up at court. I had to go to the Alameda county court house and prove to them that I don't live in the US. I had a copy of my registry at the town hall here in Spain. They wanted something in English. I reminded the woman that Alameda county is officially bi-lingual and Spanish is co-official with English. She had no answer to that. Of course she had no idea what the document meant since you don't register at city hall as a resident in the US.
