03:27 pm, September 16th - Adding insult to injury
I went in for Jury Duty last Thursday. I was in the first round of people called to a jury pool. We went to the courtroom and waited. Took a break. Waited. Took a break. Waited.

The judge finally arrived and went through details about the length of the trial (4-6 weeks or something). I was selected to fill out a questionnaire and return this week. (Not on Monday. Good thing, as I had CPR training on Monday morning.)

I was not picked to be released today, so it's back in tomorrow for more of the jury selection process. I'm afraid that the trial is going to be even more boring that the jury selection process.

If I do make it to the jury box, the jury duty continues through the date we're getting married in October. Luckily, they don't have jury duty for this trial on Fridays (we're getting married on Friday, 10/10). Our marriage license appointment is the day before, but it's at 1pm, during the trial lunch hour, so that would work out okay.

They're supposed to finish the jury selection by Thursday.

That totally blows their One Day, or One term of service that they tout for Jury Duty.

You have gone now what 2 days, and have to do a 3rd?

False advertising.

Me Thinks

I believe they would excuse you from such duty if you were to provide them with the appointment paperwork. Honestly, I think getting hitched is more important at this stage. You can always serve on duty again.

Congrats on the upcoming wedding. This is the first I heard you were doing this. Way to Go!
